I’ve spent 25 years building technology at every level of the stack – from kernel development and chip tapeouts to AI products serving hospitals and enterprise customers. I’ve raised venture capital, navigated FDA and HIPAA, built teams, and operated as both CEO and CTO. That range is what I bring to advisory engagements.

I work with startups, investors, law firms, government agencies, and enterprise leadership teams. The common thread: hard technical problems where getting it wrong is expensive.

Domains

  • AI & data infrastructure – Architecture, compliance, and go-to-market for AI products in regulated industries. Built HIPAA-compliant infrastructure at Segmed (YC W20) that processed billions of medical images and helped companies obtain FDA 510(k) clearance. Currently building Konobase, an AI data platform for healthcare, finance, and compliance-heavy sectors.
  • Semiconductor & computer architecture – FPGA, ASIC, and embedded systems. Contributed to the Zynq tapeout at Xilinx (now AMD), built ARM/ARM64 stress-testing systems, and worked on Single Event Upset and process/voltage/temperature experiments. Built a RISC-V system emulator with JIT compilation and a synthesizable ATmega328P with full C-to-GDSII flow.
  • Systems & security engineering – Operating systems, networking, and trusted computing. FreeBSD kernel developer since 2006. Research at Cambridge Computer Laboratory on CHERI (hardware-enforced memory safety). Scaled mobile infrastructure at Salesforce across millions of enterprise users.
  • Healthcare & medical devices – The intersection of AI, regulation, and clinical data. Deep experience with HIPAA, FDA submissions, DICOM imaging pipelines, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 certification. Published in Radiology on synthetic medical imaging data.
